TOP STORIES 🔥

🛴 UK scooter trials to expand

The UK’s Department for Transport has made it possible for local authorities that currently do not have e-scooter trials, to follow an ‘expression of interest’ process to be involved in a new trial.

Whilst legalisation legislation remains in doubt, the DfT are willing to expand the trials to get ‘the best possible evidence base’ to make an informed decision on whether the trials should become permanent.

As Zag Daily says, the schemes are live in 22 areas, and the trials have now been renewed 4 times. Given the news coming out of Spain, this is a welcome update!

🧡 Donkey Republic records 25% YoY revenue increase in Q3

Donkey Republic achieved record revenue of €6.8m in Q3 2024, representing a 25% increase on Q3 2023. This strong performance was driven by “a combination of factors, including a larger fleet, increased fleet utilization, and the successful ramp-up of subsidized operations”.

One such subsidised project is in Antwerp, where Donkey operates around 2,900 bikes. The investment into Velo Antwerpen & Donkey Republic, saw Antwerp ranked #2 in the CIE Bike sharing benchmarking study, second only to Paris.

Positive signs!
