Transport for London (TfL) has announced a new enforcement policy that will restrict parking for the tens of thousands of bikes rented through Forest & Lime.

Bikes will have to be parked in designated areas on “red routes” in town and on TfL land, which includes areas like train and bus station forecourts. Red routes make up nearly 400 miles of London’s streets, which is only about 5% of all the roads in the city, but account for more than 30% of the traffic.

London is one of the rare metropolitan cities where private operators record more trips than the public bike system (Santander Cycles). These new rules could affect dockless bike ridership slightly.

 🔵 Velovision at POLIS

Last week, we exhibited City Dive VeloVision at the POLIS Conference in Karlsruhe.

We had engaging discussions with city representatives from all over Europe on ways to enhance the safety and comfort of bike lanes with the help of data collected "in situ" (photos, vibrations, air pollution), and traffic data (bikes, scooters and cars) provided by shared mobility vehicles, fleets of connected cars and fixed counters.

This project was developed by Fluctuo in collaboration with our partners FACTUAL, Lane Patrol and Social Tech Projects, with the support of EIT Urban Mobility.
