☀️ Sun, scooters and suspicious cities

Last week, Tías (Lanzarote) removed 34 Dott scooters from the area as the company was operating without a permit. They will not be allowed to continue operations in the town and will face a fine.

However, Dott is not the first scooter company to have their vehicles removed in Lanzarote. A month ago scooters from Bird, Hoppy and Dott were all taken off the streets of Yaiza by the local police for the same infraction - lacking a permit. In this case, operators were warned in May that failure to remove their vehicles would result in a fine, yet no operations were halted.

The municipal councils state that they don’t want to ban shared mobility altogether, but rather regulate the companies that wish to operate on the island; Yaiza’s City Council plans to open a tender process.
