🇬🇧 No end in sight for UK scooter trials
The Department for Transport (DfT) has adapted its rules regarding scooter trials in the UK, granting more power to local authorities to request changes to shared scooter services. Authorities must present a comprehensive safety and finance plan to obtain these changes.
The scooter trials carry on now, after its fourth extension, until May 2026. This is so the government can continue to assess whether scooters should be legalised.

2023 saw dockless bikes, scooters & mopeds generate more than €900 million in Europe.
🇫🇷 Paris banned scooters but doubled dockless bike ridership.
