🛣️ New road ahead for Zity

In late December, Ferrovial has agreed to sell its 50% stake in Zity to Renault Group, the other shareholder. The car sharing business that launched in Madrid in 2017 has grown to 1,440 shared cars across a number of European cities.

Ferrovial expressed their desire to focus on developing sustainable infrastructure.

This week, Zity also announced that it would be pulling its fleet from Paris on 15th January. Having operated in the city for three years and reaching 100,000 users, vandalism & extensive damage to the fleet has proved too costly to continue operations.

🛴 20,000 scooters up for auction

After closing down its operations at the end of last month, Superpedestrian is now planning to auction its 20,000 electric scooters. The vehicles will be sold to companies looking for large scooter fleets; and will ideally be sold to the same buyer.

The company announced that it would halt US operations in December, with plans to sell the European business.

The first auction will take place on the 23rd January, spanning 3 days.
