TOP STORY 🔥
💂 London Bike Calling

London has seen a remarkable surge in cycling, with daily bike journeys reaching 1.2 million in 2023—a 20% increase since 2019. This boom is driven by expanded cycling infrastructure, including over 400 km of dedicated cycle lanes, alongside a sharp rise in dockless bike usage from providers like Lime and Forest.
Swedish operator VOI is aiming to capture a share of this growing market. After launching a trial with 500 dockless e-bikes in West London, VOI has expanded its service to several additional boroughs, including Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Kensington and Chelsea.
However, the rapid growth of dockless bikes has also sparked challenges. Improperly parked bikes often block sidewalks and public spaces. This has prompted calls for better regulation and the development of designated parking zones to keep the streets safe and accessible for all users. Last year, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan called for a solution to the “Wild West” effect the vehicles have on London's pavements.
