🍎 Keeping Citi Bike rolling in NY

In partnership with Lyft Urban Solutions
Ever wonder what powers North America's largest bikeshare system? Our new video offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Citi Bike's daily operations.
Since launching in 2013, Citi Bike has grown into a network of over 35,000 bicycles and 2,300 docking stations across New York City. In 2025 alone, the system registered more than 46 million rides, 70% of which were made on ebikes.
Operating at this scale requires precision. Hundreds of associates at Motivate, Lyft Urban Solutions' field operations subcontractor, work around the clock performing bike maintenance and repairs, recovering bikes, and executing the critical task of rebalancing to ensure bikes and docks are available where and when riders need them.
Coordinating these efforts is Lyft Urban Solutions' custom-built operational platform, which monitors system health in real-time, flags issues, and dispatches field teams efficiently.
To meet surging ebike demand, Citi Bike continues to innovate its infrastructure. More stations are now being connected directly to the electrical grid, allowing bikes to charge while docked and improving availability, operational efficiency, and sustainability.

🇩🇪 Nextbike’s luck turns in Germany

Some good news for Nextbike in Germany!
The transport authority MVV in Munich has awarded the contract to Nextbike to operate the new regional bike-sharing system MyRadl from spring 2026.
MyRadl will have 6,800 bikes and electric bikes across nearly 1,000 locations in Munich and 36 other cities, markets, and municipalities — making it the biggest bike sharing system in Germany to date.
Last week, we reported that Nextbike would continue to operate in Berlin after despite the city cutting its funding. Munich continues to back publicly-funded bike sharing whilst Berlin decides against it.
