CHECK this out

Check, one of the leading shared mobility operators in The Netherlands, reported a highly successful 2024, achieving significant financial and operational milestones. The company recorded a turnover of nearly €18 million, as well as:

👉️ Trips in 2024: 4.2 million
👉️ AVG revenue per moped trip: €4.28
👉️ Utilization: 2.3 trips/moped/day

The operator’s fleet reached 5,000 mopeds and 50 cars - Check estimate their market share to have grown to approx. 75%, taking advantage of their competitor’s struggles: GO Sharing exited a significant number of markets in The Netherlands in 2024, and recently withdrew from Amsterdam; while felyx was acquired by Cooltra after having lost the tender in Amsterdam (where they may now finally re-appear).

In 2025, Check aims to double the car fleet and to further expand into electric bikes.

😬 Confirmed: Zaragoza follows Madrid

We have confirmation: Zaragoza will not renew the scooter permits of Bolt and Bird. There are two main reasons for this.

The first is that the new Bizi Zaragoza bike system is proving to be popular, like the expanded BiciMAD system in Madrid. Scooter rentals have dropped by 50% since the launch.

Secondly, an 81-year-old was tragically hit and killed by a private scooter and, rightly, there are concerns over safety. However, much of the backlash has been taken out on shared scooters, and shared operators have been scapegoated for the faults of individuals on private scooters.
