5. Nottingham 🇬🇧 ✅ 

Nottingham had run a popular scooter trial until December 2023, until Superpedestrian went into liquidation and stopped the service. The council searched for a new operator, with Dott being selected on a 5-year contract. A break clause has been included in May 2026 – when the UK’s national trials are set to end.

The scheme will have 1,300 scooters.

4. Salzburg 🇦🇹 🟠

The city of Salzburg developed plans for a comprehensive bike rental system called ‘S-Bike’ 13 years ago. Now the city and state want to implement it. In the first phase of expansion, 600 bikes are to be made available at 60 stations. It could grow to be 1,000 bikes.

It is still pending final approval, but should it come through, it would be one to watch.
